Mariam Hussain Received Blue Ribbon Award at APA

Ms. Hussain received a Blue Ribbon Award at the 125th Annual Convention of the American Psychological Association (APA) for her presentation “Age-Related Differences on The Virtual Reality Functional Capacity Assessment Tool (VRFCAT) in HIV Infected (HIV+) and /or Methamphetamine Dependent (METH+) Adults”.

She also was awarded a $300 APA Travel Award from the APA Science Directorate to attend this year's APA convention in order to present her findings.

She currently is an HNRP trainee and a student in the SDSU/UCSD Joint Doctoral Program in Clinical Psychology.

 Her research interests include the study of central nervous system (CNS) outcomes from HIV infection, substance use, and aging. Her specific focus includes impairments in neurocognitive health, immune health, and everyday functioning as a consequence of disease, lifestyle factors, and aging.
